Veoh Web Player插件取代Veoh TV网络电视客户端

      Veoh TV是Veoh公司的网络电视客户端；Veoh Web Player是Veoh公司新开发的轻量级网页播放插件。

      视讯网昨天接到Veoh公司发来的邮件，他们决定逐步取消Veoh TV产品，改用网页插件的形式，将Veoh TV的功能集成到Veoh.com网站上。Veoh称，这是自去年开始收集用户建议之后的结果。

      我们暂不讨论这种作法的结果如何，先来看一下Veoh告诉我们为什么使用Veoh Web Player的理由：

  1. 你不再需要安装一个浪费系统资源的客户端，所有的视频都可以通过Veoh.com网站来观看。
  2. 通过安装轻量级Veoh Web Player插件，你能够下载、上传和管理你的视频数据，甚至在断网的情况下观看视频。

看视频，用插件还是客户端？用P2P还是CDN？

  1. UUSee、PPS、PPLive等网络电视用的是P2P技术的客户端。
  2. 暴风以播放器为切入点进入了网络视频领域，当然用的是客户端。
  3. 优酷、土豆等用的是CDN技术的网页播放器。
  4. 之后……
  5. 优酷、土豆等为了成本，提供了P2P技术的客户端/插件。
  6. 新浪视频一直采用的是CDN加速看微视频，P2P插件看长视频；搜狐视频也一样。
  7. UUSee、PPS、PPLive都开始发力“浏览器+插件”的网站形式。
  8. Joost开发了网页版网络电视。
  9. Veoh也推出插件形式的Veoh Web Player集成到Veoh.com网站上取代网络电视客户端Veoh TV。
  10. 都说P2P节省成本，适合网络直播，YouTube Live直播频道前两天推出了，却采用了昂贵的CDN技术，Why?
  11. 看视频，用插件还是客户端？用P2P还是CDN？
